Triage of the Emergency Patient

“First impressions” are formed in the first three seconds of new situation.  Visual cues such as demeanour, body language, and grooming are used to evaluate a person.  What many don’t realize is that we can use these same skills to evaluate and triage emergency patients.   Triage is an art form, and this lecture will give you the tools you need to recognize and classify patients into a triage scale, to ensure they are seen on a priority basis.

This webinar will be a narrated powerpoint, with lots of sound and videos to help make points! You will need a stable and fast internet connection.  The webinar will use Goto Webinar which offers apps for android and iOS devices in addition to its web app.

I am working with the Canadian Provincial Technician Associations to assure that credit will be offered to all member technicians.  A certificate of completion will be sent to all participants who attended the webinar and participated in polls/Q and A etc.

Veterinary technicians/nurses from other countries are welcome to attend this webinar, please check with your associations to ensure that the webinar will be counted towards your CE requirement BEFORE registering. I can provide more information as necessary.

Lecture Level: GENERAL: Geared towards new graduates, technicians just starting in emergency, those needing a refresher. VT Students also welcome!
